This year I was awarded a residency through South Carolina State Parks at Givhans Ferry State Park on the Edisto River. Every morning, I awoke at dawn to walk along the river's edge to study the light and enjoy the solitude. After, I returned to my cabin to paint the morning light on the river below looking through the dense foliage. As the early morning light changed the river below would begin to appear.
