The time spent camping allows me to get to know a place throughout the course of days & the seasons, experiencing storms, sunsets, & sunrises, weather extremes from the hot sticky days of July in the South, to the wind, snow & ice that January & February can bring. Together these moments bring me closer to the places I paint. Each painting is a memory of a particular time, but it is informed by a myriad of experiences.
