Tomorrow They Would Be Gone, 2014, oil on canvas 36 in x 28 in
The first painting after moving from Seattle, WA to Greenville, SC in 2014. As I got to know the new landscape around me, I continued to work from memories of the Pacific Northwest, but with the colors of the Southeast Fall finding their way into my palette. This is inspired by a watercolor painting done in the Washington Park Arboretum. For several years, I would ride my bike to the arboretum in the early morning to paint in plein air.
