The Lure of the Fog (Altamont Road), 2018, oil on canvas, 18 in x 18 in
Just a few miles from my home is Paris Mountain State Park. A road weaves its way up along Paris Mountain, Altamont Road, a route of many of my bike rides. At the top is a tree that I like to visit to see how it has changed through the seasons. What I love most are the mornings when the fog has set in over the mountain and as I climb higher up, the fog becomes like a siren song. The beauty I experience and the peace that I feel in those moments are what drive me to paint.
